A computer virus attack is something that most of us have experienced
and many a time had to shell out quite a bit of money to get it removed.
These viruses come in various forms and attack certain documents and
settings in the computer. The worst part about these viruses are that
they are camouflaged to look as some other file or document that maybe
important and on opening them unleashes an attack that cripples the
system. Here is a list of some most dangerous viruses that have been
made.
ILOVEYOU: This
is the name of a virus that, unlike its meaning, is very dangerous.
This virus was created by two Filipinos who were never charged for the
crime. This virus is considered as one of the most virulent viruses the
world has ever seen. The virus affected 1- percent of the world’s
computer network. How the virus works is that it would appear as a TXT
file and when clicked upon, it would send itself to everyone on the
users mail. This was so dangerous that the damaged caused was worth $10
billion.Code Red: This virus is believed to be a milder form of malware but it did do quite a good amount of damage to the system. This malware would bring websites down and the most notable is that it brought the whitehouse.gov website down. This fear led to other governments shutting their sites for a while. Though the threat isn’t extensive, this malware was an eye opener for many security experts.
